One year ago, Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto’s City Hall was covered with people and chalk messages honouring the recently departed Jack Layton. According to some, “the best Prime Minister we never had”. He had only months previous led his party to an historic win as opposition in a federal election.

  5. There is to be an event there today to honour the 1st anniversary of his death.
