A view from last summer over to the modern buildings of Ottawa from the rooftop of the War Museum. The building is built into a hillside as a bunker and the grass on the roof represents the fields of France.

  1. Wouldn’t have guessed that was a roof! 🙂

  2. Interesting planning for the museum — I don’t imagine that the soldiers saw a view like that over the fields of France. It is hard to remember some things but necessary.

  3. Beautitful skywatch!
    Happy weekend.

  4. Love this composition. When I first looked at it I thought of how it shows the stark divide between nature and man’s built environment, but on reading the text I saw that the grasses were on the roof of a building. So perhaps it’s about how we’re slowly acquiring wisdom by allowing nature back in to our built environment.
Or perhaps it’s just a good shot with great billowy clouds in the sky!
