The main entrance to the McMichael Gallery features a magnificent soaring roof. You can see another view of the stone and timber house (and huge windows) here. Clicking on the map link below will show an aerial view of the gallery nestled in the woods. The gallery has had a tumultuous past, but seems to be holding its own now as a centre for contemporary and Canadian art.

  1. This is a great building for a gallery – the sharp angular shapes may hint at more modern and minimalist styles. On the outside, it looks almost like a modern iteration of a log cabin, classic in style with modern highlights. A cool mix of artistry and architecture…

  2. Magnificent is definitely the right word – wow! This is wonderful, thanks for sharing it with us 🙂

  3. I haven’t been for years but remember it as being a fantastic setting for the Group of Seven.

  4. I never made it here, although I meant to. Pretty building at least!

  5. I love the way galleries use these style signs on the buildings. They are so eye catching and nice…

  6. Good it’s succeeding. This exhibit, of Native American art , sounds very enjoyable.. We like that kind of art!
