This art deco gem was uncovered during a renovation in the last couple of years. Before 1957, residents of the town of Richmond Hill had to go to this 1936 built Post Office to pick up their mail. Ten years later it was leased out and soon had her art deco features covered in white paint and the clock and railings removed. Now they are looking for a new tenant.

Very stylish, I love it.
It’s so lovely. I can’t imagine removing the clock and railings.
it’s a lovely brick building. i like the font of the letters.:p
That’s fabulous. So good to see it restored to its past glory!
Love how the year is worked into the design of the ironwork over the window! It should never all have been covered in white paint! This is beautiful!
Too bad those railings were removed. They were awesome!
i’m loving art deco.

Always liked Art Deco, and this build is no exception. Neat find.
I hope the new tenant doesn’t cover up those wonderful details! Cool find.
