This added room is just a plain square, but I like the jaunty angle that would capture as much as light as possible in its north-east axis.

  1. Very unique and attractive!

  2. That was really clever of the architect or builder, adding a wonderful bit of character to the house along with the practical, sunlight-catching aspect. There’s a one-level house in town here that added a front foyer/sunroom combo to their house at an angle, and that angle added an amazing amount of eye appeal. With it, the entire house went from run-of-the-mill ranch style to adorable, unique and very inviting cottage. I’ve only seen two other houses with similar angled entry ways (one in Colorado that I was so smitten with I photographed it too), but none with anything as elaborate as this, or 2-stories tall. This house is really pretty – lovely colors and landscaping really add to its appeal, too!

  3. Oh, I like that a lot – what a creative idea! I’ve never seen an addition attached on a diagonal before 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing it!

  4. I like the corner windows – they add twice the light despite the location of the sun. Additional solar rays make any room see larger. Neat orientation! I do not know what the ‘NW’ in my photo is, despite an extensive search. It remains a mystery…

  5. I have never seen this before…it is way cool!
