The Bellefair United Church is in the process of being transformed into condos. The red brick and stone facade facing Queen St E across from Kew Gardens will be retained and enhanced by retail space on the street level and five storeys of residential space. The Bellefair Kew Gardens Residences were sold out long before the expected completion date of October 2012 and this sign refers to another property farther along the street by the same property developers.

Interesting, how architecture gets re-used. Today we saw a building that was built as a synagogue that is now a church. A friend lives in a condo that was once a kindergarten classroom.
I like the idea of living someplace that was once a church. So many positive thoughts, songs and prayers these walls have heard. There would be good vibes in there.
I would love that ambiance.

Thank goodness this beautiful piece of architecture was not allowed to decay. I think it is wonderful that it is being turned into beautiful places to live. The picture makes the viewer want to move in right now. genie
