It looks like the owners of this barn couldn’t quite decide whether to go with the horizontal or vertical boards. Perhaps they are waiting to see which side stands the test of time.

  1. I like your take on this barn and the owners questioning which way to go with the boards. Looks like there is a little corn shed at the far right. I agree with you about the red roof on my barn. I think the owners must have just painted it, because you could NOT miss it. I think it will look nicer when it fades a bit. I though the fence did calm it down a bit because it had a way of drawing your eyes from the red to it. genie

  2. i wonder what will fall next? wonder when they will fix up the place? could be a great barn. (:

  3. Maybe the sideways boards were part of an addition! LOL!! Great picture! 🙂

  4. Maybe they added on and went the other way with the boards.

  5. Wow, that one would be a chore to repair. I wouldn’t know where to start first.

  6. I believe that one was an addition to the other. If you look closely you can see that the roof lines at the junction of the horizontal and the vertical boards doesn’t quite match up. but, whatever, it exudes a lot of character!

  7. What an interesting old barn! Nice find!

  8. I like it! Looks like it was built by committee….

  9. That is really funny – great find!

  10. Yes, it has character for sure! Nice one truly!

  11. it looks like horizontal is winning, though not by much! i like this cute barn!

  12. Looks to me like it won’t be long before they know. :))

  13. It was snowing, wasn’t it, when you took this pic? We didn’t see much snow this winter, but we rarely do, anyway.
That’s a great barn, but I’m wondering, too, what the boards are about.

Thanks so much for joining this week’s Barn Charm =)

  14. Ha, ha, ha… Very good noted.

    Regards and best wishes

  15. Gives it that certain ‘slap-dash’ look!
