The door to the Knox Presbyterian Church in Burlington. Originally consecrated in 1845, the new sanctuary was built in 1877.

That door is awesome in a reflective way. The black is more somber that the red of Episcopal churches, perhaps the bark color allows us to redirect our energy toward worship inside. I suppose the Scots wanted to prepare us prior to our entrance…the brick surrounding the portal is stunning. Nice!
