The bridge in the distance is the Pretoria Bridge, a lift bridge built in 1915 that crosses the Rideau Canal and connects The Glebe and Centretown to Old Ottawa East. In the 1970s it was rebuilt almost exactly as it was when it was discovered that it had been seriously damaged by road salt. In the foreground is the  Queensway Bridge of the Trans Canada Highway 417.
