Some elegant town homes on George Street in downtown Oakville. I suppose that is more of a railing than a fence that is in front of the yards for Friday Fences. And that is definitely a railing on the second floor where one might optimistically refer to a ‘juliette balcony’, but there are certainly enough repeating window patterns to qualify for Thursday Things in a Row.

  1. Those are elegant. I love the dormers, and that is quite the elaborate gutter system! (I’m especially mindful of gutters, because the cottage lacks them and snow is melting off our roof today!) And while it might not keep critters in or out, I’d call that one on the ground floor a fence. 🙂

  2. So many lovely things in a row. The door windows with reflections are my favorites.

  3. What a beautiful shot! I love all of the french doors in a row!

  4. I have some friends in Oakville. I think it would be a nice place to live!

  5. Cool place – I like things al lined up in a row!

  6. I like the design of this town home very elegant looking.

  7. Elegant is certainly the right word for this place! I would feel like an elephant in a china shop in this place.

  8. It’s lovely!
I think the ironwork in front certainly qualifies for fencing, however small. It’s just more ornamental rather than utilitarian. 🙂

  9. What beautiful townhomes….love the fence in front, it adds to the curb appeal!

  10. Well, let’s look now… the definition of fence: A barrier, railing, or other upright structure, typically of wood or wire, enclosing an area of ground to mark a boundary, control… YUP, it works! 🙂 And I agree, this is an elegant townhouse with lovely metal fence and railings. Wouldn’t expect less in Oakville, though… I was once told it has (had?) some the most expensive real estate in Ontario.

  11. Lots of things in a row here! What an elegant building!

  12. What a beautiful building, I love the fencing. Love it!

  13. What a beautiful buillding, your photos are wonderful.

  14. Great photo. The older buildings were more elegant and stylish than much that is built now.

  15. Elegant is almost an understatement for this home….it is amazing…real opulence. Oh, to be in a place like that filled with gorgeous furniture…only in our dreams. Beautiful capture…lovely colors. genie
