A view of Fort Niagara from the shores of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Here we can see the North Redoubt (1771) and the ‘French Castle’ (1726). The fort played an important role in the struggles of France, Great Britain, and the United States to control the Great Lakes region of North America, and also helped shape the destinies of the Iroquois (Six Nations) peoples and the nation of Canada.

  1. Hmmm… I thought this was Fort Erie. Ooops!
I had a shot of this not too long ago on my blog. I was in NotL this summer. I love that place! 🙂
Your shot looks great in B&W.

  2. I like this view, one can see the architecture quite well!

  3. Beautiful place and photographed very well.

  4. A great shot, the B&W adds to the vintage of the fort.

  5. I like the angle of this shot! Cool, Lesley!

  6. Wonderful in B/W…;D

  7. It’s a really clear photo, with so much detail. I’d like to be able to see it in person.
