Looking down Wineva Ave in The Beaches area of Toronto towards Lake Ontario. These fourplexes are unique architecture to this area. I feel sad for that white house that has no dappled shade.

  1. Very pretty shadows in this street. Maybe that white house will get shadows later on in the day 🙂

  2. What a lovely shadowed street and lovely houses as well! Terrific shadow shot for the day, Lesley! Great looking neighborhood! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!

  3. Since I live in the desert most of the year, I find shady streets most inviting!

    SING A SONG OF SHADOWS

    Sing a song of shadows
    Taller than a tree!
    Sing a song of shadows
    Wider than the sea!
    Sing a song of shadows
    Dancing in the sun!
    Sing a song of shadows—
    Day is almost done!

  4. A great shot with the lake in the background. I love the beaches, but I could never afford to live there.

  5. An enchanting streetscape that doesn’t look as if it suffers from too much heavy traffic! And in walking distance to the lake! Beautiful dappled shadows add extra beauty!

  6. Beautiful street. Looks like the perfect place to take a walk, especially if it leads to the lake.

  7. Looks like a lovely place to live!

  8. Very good and nice photo.

    Regards!

  9. Nice shadow shot in a beautiful place. Happy SSS.

  10. If I were ever to move back to Toronto, the Beaches is where I’d like to live. The shade of the trees are sure welcome on hot summer days.

  11. Perfect capture. Love it.

  12. Leslie, what a wonderful photo! You have epitomized summer in a residential neighborhood beautifully!

  13. A beautiful street!

  14. Looks like a nice quiet day out there! What a place to live!

  15. this is a lovely shaded street. just a short distance to the beach! happy SSS.

  16. I bet this is not just an excellent shot but also a very nice area to live.

  17. these must have been owned by rich people once, I don’t like them because there are no gardens.

  18. Tree-lined streets are such an asset. It’s a shame when people would rather cut all the trees down and not have any shade. Lovely street you’re showing us here! Thanks for stopping by at my SSS.

  19. I could almost feel coolness looking at this photo and hear the rustle of the wind in the leaves..

  20. […] This 1920s fourplex house in the Beaches neighbourhood of Toronto is typical of the area. The doors are in the centre of the building with stairs running to the upstairs flat from the small square hall. Each apartment has two bedrooms and there is a secondary entrance and staircase halfway down the length of the building between the kitchen and bedrooms. This particular model, with the beautiful curb appeal, seems to have had an owner who loves the architecture and his property. Another view of this house style, on a different street, can be seen here. […]
