The blue sky and hot sun surround this 86′ minaret of the Madina Mosque on Danforth Ave. It is the first minaret in the city of Toronto (there are others beyond the city limits) and is a nice addition to the streetscape.

  3. Hi there Lesley! I love your featured sky so clear. The mosque represented by that minaret, isn’t that of Pakistan’s?

Thanks for being the first one to visit my entry, by the way. I wish you have a fabulous weekend!

    • I’m not sure, but the area is attracting a lot of Ethiopians.
I just checked and found it was started by Gujarati/Tablighi. Maybe you know about this?

  4. Lovely blue sky, but it is the minaret that is really outstanding. Very nice shot. Mickie 🙂

  5. What a lovely mosque minaret you captured this week. It looks so pretty against the blue sky. You asked about the cars at Camp Maxwelton. I took that the day we took the grandsons out there. There are so many cars of the campers families, the counselors park theirs over in that area just for those few hours. This year there were 54 boys for the month long boys’ camp. It is the most gorgeous spot in the world. I teach with the owner of the camp. It has been in the family for over 50 years. Lee teachers biology during the school year and then he and his fife and 2 sons operate the cam in the summers. There is also a girls’ camp following the boys. I am going to be posting some more shots from out there in the coming days. Genie

  6. That’s quite beautiful against the bright blue sky! A nice addition to the skyline indeed!

  10. not something you’d expect to see in Toronto

  11. Wonderful blue sky, wish it was here right now. Great building too.
    Happy weekend!:-)

  12. It’s a beautiful shot!

  13. A lovely photo, I love the contrast between the colors!

  14. Oh, what a wonderful photo, very well captured! The minaret is very beautiful, too, I love oriental ornaments very much. We saw many minarets when we visited Egypt and Turkey lately. The prayers of the muezzins were remarkable – they had a sad and melancholy tone. I liked it a lot!

  15. Lovely shot, Lesley!

  16. Excellent photography.

    Regards!
