The western gateway sign to Gananoque, a town of  roughly 5,000 people. Things to do in Gananoque include tours of the 1,000 Islands, a 12km hiking trail, concerts in the park, a lively theatre, plus the – what may be considered ubiquitous – casino.

  1. Yep, they have a pretty impressive archway for such a small place!! I like that it is a wooden sign – wonder how old it is.

  2. A lovely place where we use to stay on our way to Vermont. The 1,000 Islands (those I have seen, anyway) are beautiful!

  3. Beautiful sign! The weather looks a wee bit dull.

  4. Except for the casino (which your adjective describes perfectly, sadly)….I would love this place. It’s on the list.

  5. (I meant our to-be-visited list.

  6. the sign looks very welcoming.

  7. I’m guessing that’s an Indian name if there is a casino to visit. The archway looks inviting.

  8. I haven’t been there in years! Hmmm. I may have ti change that. 🙂

  9. The style of the sign tends to suggest that this place is laden with legend! Very impressive!

  10. Cool sign! Never heard of the Thousand Islands!

  11. That’s a fantastic gateway! I received a Thousand Islands postcard from a dear friend visiting there.
