The textile factories along the Grand River in Galt are long closed, but there was a time when these buildings were bustling with energy and commerce.
Participating in Weekend in Black and White
A fine shot. Imposing buildings and great reflections.
What a lovely place. Beautiful old buildings and great reflections.
beautiful old buildings…so similar to the ones along the Merrimack passing through Manchester, NH, near where I live.
These stone buildings look great in monochrome. The nice reflection in the river would also make it work for Weekend Reflections.
Nice composition and does reflect the character of a time long ago. I wonder if
anyone lives there now, a great place to renovate I would think.
I believe they will be made into condos, but I’m not sure. It is a great location, for sure!
The overcast sky give this a somber mood. Nicely done!
They were certainly well built and have been able to withstand the test of time. It is a shame they are empty now, but that seems to be the case everywhere these days. Fine capture. genie
Love this one!
