The Goddess of Winged Victory, who sits atop the Princes’ Gates at Exhibition Place in Toronto, has gotten a cleaning. The gates were built in 1927 and have endured the worst of the weather ever since. This is the final stage of the restoration of the central arch which should be finished this spring.

  4. If I remember my tour of the ruins of Ephesus clearly, the goddess of victory is Nike. How cool is that.

  5. I saw that going on a couple of weeks ago. Funny, but I thought they had restored it just a few years ago – I guess not. Nice shot.

  6. What a gorgeous statue. So lovely to see her being restored.

  7. Scrubbed up nicely, did she?

  8. Love la chat! A great upwards look at the statue. Do hope she is included in the restoration!

  9. I love it. Great shot, even with the scafolding. Always good to know that these historic things are preserved.
