It was snowing as I left Burlington earlier today and the trees looked so pretty with the first accumulation of the white stuff this season. I like the symmetry of the windows in this house, though I imagine those slanted third floor ones are tricky when it comes to window treatments.

With the grey shingles and green-grey trim, this fence blends in perfectly. I like the little two step it has and then the rapid rise as it reaches up to the height of the gate.

Colborne Street in Brantford had the longest stretch of pre-Confederate buildings in Ontario. This is the side of the street that was not demolished in 2010. (And yes, I see that the date on that white building, the Masonic Hall, says 1869)

I really liked this stylized A logo on this small home based business. Unfortunately, the railing perfectly obscures what might be the actual name of what looks like a hair salon. Looking into the businesses of Mt Forest on the internet later, I figured that this must be Adells Beauty Salon on King St.

I was tempted to play around with different effects on this barn (now that Picnik premium effects are free…) but in the end, I liked the bluish tinge to the barn wood that matched the sky. This barn was found just down the road from the nameless building in my previous post, here.

I have no idea what this building is home to. It is on the west side of Highway 6 just past Southgate Rd north of Mount Forest. It seems to have an official air to it but I did not see a sign, nor any cars in the parking lot on the Saturday I took this. Mostly, I liked the impressive tower on the right.

This is where the original front door was located before the glass wall was erected to enlarge the space while retaining the historical details of the 1923 Carnegie building in Hespeler. You can still see the LIBRARY over the door which I believe is now a reading nook.

The bridge at the Middle Dam is at the Saugeen Valley Conservation Area in Durham. This is a popular recreation area which is not showing at its best during these winter months.
