On one of the side walls of the Mississauga City Hall is this fancy fence to enclose the pipes and meters.

Battered Gate
This is funny. I just saw something like this in some gardens I toured last week. In this case, a wooden lathe frame covered the ugly mecnanics much like this grand covering for the ugly, but necessary operations.
Seems like a sound safety precaution and it is attractive to boot.
I missed your link at Friday’s Fences…I have never seen meters fenced in….but bet is common in bigger cities to prevent tampering.
