Peeking out through the ivy is this upper storey escape route. Found on a sidestreet in Brantford.
Participating in Window Views… and Doors

It looks almost as if the ivy is eating the house. Kinda’ like kudzu when we were in the South on this roadtrip. Scary stuff! It was a great find for the W&D meme!
The ivy has managed to “eat” a window or two! It must be rather dark inside that apartment.
Ivy can be so pretty, but too much of a good thing…
Very interesting photo! Makes me think no-one ever uses that door. No-one ever escapes!
I wonder… but they did go to the trouble of putting planters out.
I like the varied textures and contrasts of tones in this capture.
thank you.
Hiya Lesley,
Is there a chance this is not ivy but Virginia Creeper?
In which case it will be the most imcredible red in a week or two?
If so, you’ll have to go back and take another picture.
I love outside staircases. Thanks for showing it us.
BTW, the wooden structure in my waterywednesday picture was a mystery to me too
You could be right. I was using ‘ivy’ as a generic term, thus displaying my botanical ignorance. i will go back and check it out.
perfect angle!
thanks for the visit, Lesley!
