The sun shines on the Burlington Skyway after a rainstorm. The masts between the trees are an inlet marina at Bayfront Park. And just beyond the Skyway there is a glimpse of the lift bridge that lets the ships through the canal from Lake Ontario into Hamilton Harbour.
Participating in Sunday Bridges

quite a super sight
A very sweeping bridge with a long reach.
That´s an amazing bridge
Have a nice weekend

Nice to see the surrounding of the bridge..Good one !
It does look unusually white in this light!
lovely panoramic shot! i love the white skyway.
Great design.
Well, if that bridge was built before the ’70s, I must’ve crossed it countless times… but I’ve never seen it from this angle… or if I did, I don’t remember it. Nice lighting you caught here, Lesly!
It was built in 1958 and a twin expansion was added in the late 80s.
It is from an unusual angle, from the Hamilton side.
PS. Excuse the typo… Lesley!
Hiya Lesley,
Impressive picture.
Is that one of the new hybrid cameras?
BTW, where is the rainbow?
By rights there ought to have been one.
There was a rainbow, but by the time I saw this it was already fading too fast to get a good shot of it.
My camera is not a hybrid, just a point and shoot with a good zoom.
Never seen it from that side. Glad you pointed out where the lift bridge was so I could position myself. Super capture!
Great timing on the shot, the bridge really pops against the dark sky.
How do they keep it so white? They have teams of workers to clean it?
Yes, the students do use this bridge as a short cut. That was why the response to cleaning up this area was great. because to many, it was their own children benefit from it.

In this post, I did on saving this polluted area.
So you live in Hamilton, do you go to Windsor to go to the USA?
Actually, the bridge isn’t white – that was what made this view so amazing. It was all the bright evening sun and the darker sky. It is usually a silver-grey.
Windsor is too for away for that – Niagara Falls is only 1/2 hour away.
A fine contribution to Sunday Bridges.
